MAN front axles come from large-scale series production for commercial vehicles and meet the most demanding requirements.

The V8-65L axle has been developed specifically for low-floor buses, boasts a specially dropped axle beam, and has a 102” width for the American market.

The I-beam section of this axle is forged from high-strength tempering steel.

The wheel parts are swivel-mounted on kingpins. The kingpin mounting consists of a needle bearing below and a sliding bushing above.

The axial bearing is a rolling bearing. High-quality sliding bearings made of tin bronze absorb the radial forces, hardened slide rings (with rolling bearings) the axial forces. Wheel hubs are made of nodular cast iron.

This axle is equipped with s-cam drum brakes, features automatic brake lining adjustment and wear indicators on both, OEM brake linings and slack adjusters.

All brake linings are asbestos-free.

The axles can be equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Only rims and tires released by MAN may be fitted.

The brake cylinders are pneumatically actuated and as a customer option, are included in the delivery content of the axle.
